Meet Our Teachers

Wei Tian is a nurturing piano & cello teacher with a passion for bringing out the natural creativity in her students. She began piano lessons at the age of 7, where she developed a strong foundation that later supported her swift progress on the cello — achieving a Grade 8 Distinction under four years of learning.

Wei Tian holds a BA (Hons) in Music from the University of Nottingham (UK) where she furthered her piano performance and academic studies. In addition to private teaching, she has been actively involved in performing, music education and orchestra management and has worked with the Singapore Symphony Orchestra, Metropolitan Festival Orchestra and Orchestra of the Music Makers. She has also taught the GCE 'O' Level MEP syllabus at CHIJ St Nicholas Girls' School Secondary and General Music at Southwold Academy & Sixth Form (UK) as a music educator.

Having experienced a range of teaching styles herself, Wei Tian understands the impact a teacher can have in inspiring and cultivating musicianship in students. She credits her musical journey to Ms Soon Liok Kee (piano), Ms Brenda May (piano) and Ms Zhao Yu Er (cello). This has shaped her philosophy of adapting her approach to suit each child's pace, personality, and interests in order to encourage optimal learning and an appreciation for music.

Wei Tian is known for her warm and engaging teaching style. She has experience teaching children from 3.5 years old and is committed to helping every student grow in confidence, creativity, and to have a lifelong appreciation for music.
